Easter Eggs!

Happy Easter everyone!!

It has been a tough winter with lots of bad news but it is spring now and it feels like a perfect time for a new start. We are looking forward to warmer weather which means lots of walks along the wonderful trails around us.

We are also looking forward to moving to Colorado where we feel most at home.

Today was a little bit warmer and Kris felt a lot better so we did our Easter egg hunt today. Kris hid candy filled eggs all though the forest. At first Taylor was not sure what we were doing but soon enough she found her first couple eggs and she was hooked!

BOOM!!! Take that JUNO!!!

She did have some competition from Juno. For the last 8 years or so we have done the same for Juno with doggie treats in eggs. So naturally he raced up the hill eating half of her candy before we could law down the law on his furry butt.

Right.... I am going to need a bigger ladder.

Summer Vacation to MI 2008

Nice JOB Slacker!! So it is the end of summer and we have had two great vacations and I have fallen really far behind in the old blogging. Here it goes.

This first picture above is of a slightly wind-whipped Taylor pointing with both hands (one sometimes is just not enough) at a dog that just ran by. We spent the day on the beach of Lake Michigan and the night on Ron's sailboat. Days don't get any better than that. As you can see below, the beaches of Lake Michigan are absolutely amazing. Taylor likes to eat on the run, so naturally she prefers to roam the beach head with a nice full bag of "O's".

Below is a picture of Ron and Taylor at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Muskegon. I was still in working back on the east coast but from what Kris said it was a very powerful and moving event. To learn more about these life changing events click Here. Taylor as you can see was all smiles as she tried to grab her GrandPa's hat.

Sea Gulls above, sunset below. As you can tell, my wife diggs photography. She is really good at it also. Even when someone forgets the little doodad that connects the tripod to the telephoto lens, she finds a way to take wonderful shots. Really it is a team effort. I am the photographers assistant, which means it is my fault if the equipment is not working right or missing. But sometimes the photographers assistant can come up with ideas such as using the roof of the car as a platform to take some slow exposure shots of the sun as it sets over the "Big Lake". The shot below is one of my favorites because we were working so well as a team and had so little time to adjust the settings as the light changed by the second. We have more where this came from, but it will cost ya.

And here she is, spending the morning on her GrandPa's boat. How sweet it is, Taylor

Dog Park

We had a sweet day today at the dog park in Framingham.
LOOK AT ME I AM THE FASTEST DOG ALIVE!

Not only is the dog park good for burning of some excess doggy energy but it works well for toddlers.

Kris took this great picture of some blossoms. As always click on the picture to see the full size version.

It was Taylor's first time here and she really got a kick out of running down the trail.

And I am still running........

Spring is HERE AT LAST!

Its 72 degrees and sunny so it's time for a Hike!

Yesterday was the first day in about 6 months that we could actually take Taylor outside without the fear of hypothermia or some sort of exposure related problem. It has been a long hard winter here in New England and we are all suffering from major cabin fever.

Kris had been doing some research into those cool backpacks that you use to carry your kids on your.... well.. on your back (duh). She found a sweet one called the Sherapani Rumba and so we got one.

The pack is amazing. I never thought I would be this pumped up about a kid carrying device but it is sweet. The day after it was shipped to us it turned out to be perfect for hiking so we went to our favorite spot the Bigelow State Park to check it out. We had a great time and covered quite a few miles through the wonderful Nipmuck State Forest in Connecticut. Taylor was quite content to enjoy the view from 6 feet above the dirt and leave all the work to Daddy.

It really is the only way to travel.

Overnight in NY

Last weekend I was assigned to fly from New York to Martha's Vineyard. The schedule called for me to stay overnight in NY so Taylor and Kris came down with me. My company put me up in a really great hotel called the Doral Arrowood.
As you can see Taylor settled right in to catch up on some reading before night-night.

Even as we were changing her into her night outfit she would not put down the posh travel mag. Maybee she likes polar bears?

The next morning my flight got canceled so we had the day to our selves. We drove around midtown for a while and checked out Times Square. Then we had to stop to get some Garrett's popcorn on 5th Ave. Not as good as you get in Chicago but still worth the drive.
